The de Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou (designated by the United States military as the CV-2 and later C-7 Caribou) is a Canadian-designed and produced specialized cargo aircraft with short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability. The Caribou was first flown in 1958 and although mainly retired from military operations.

There is an excellent explanation of the service life of the De Haviland Caribou on Wikipedia.

On this web page are photos I took when I served in the Middle East in UNEF 1 at El Arish and Beirut of 115 ATU RCAF Caribous. Then started a web page
www115ATU.ca
with a number of additional pictures sent in by other people who served in 115 ATU and other areas where Canadian Caribous served -example Yemen and Kashmir.

Alas in Canada there is NO Caribou aircraft on display here in Canada -yet countries from Malaysia to India to US to Australia have some beautifully preserved aircraft on display. Shame on Canada -cant figure out why we have none.

So until we have one here in Canada to look at I have tried to gather as many Canadian flown aircraft in photographs as I can find - mostly RCAF

Enjoy
