Ascott House is a Grade II* listed country house near Wing in Buckinghamshire, England, set in a 3,200-acre estate.
The house was acquired by Baron Mayer de Rothschild in 1873 who then gave it to his nephew Leopold de Rothschild. In the following decades it was transformed into the substantial, but informal, country house seen today.
Leopold de Rothschild used Ascott at first as a hunting lodge, but realising its limitations he employed the architect George Devey to enlarge it. The present half-timbered house is largely the result of that commission. The extensive gardens laid out in c.1902 on the advice of the garden designer Sir Harry Veitch.
Ascott House, with some of its important art collection and a small part of the estate, was given in 1947 to the National Trust by Anthony de Rothschild.
