Colour etch by Leo Niehorster (before 1927). Location: Plasmolen, in the north of the dutch province of Limburg. Etch is rather darkened, has some wrinkles, and being behind glass was difficult to make a picture of. I hope the picture gives a good impression of the serene environment and intention of the maker, who also was an art critic who disliked the various strands of modernism which capitalized on colour effects, lines, and other tricks. The etch is part of the collection of the "Jacques van Mourik Stichting", displayed at the city hall of Mook on certain saturdays.
