Das Gebäude wurde 1963 von der German Dharmaduta Society mit Sitz in Colombo errichte. Die buddhistische Missionsgesellschaft hat das Anwesen 1957 von den Erbe des Dr. Paul Dahlke gekauft und nutzt es seit dem als Missionsstation.
Die Bibliothek ist noch im Zustand der 1960er Jahre und enthält über 4500 Bände zum Thema Buddhismus hauptsächlich der Theravada-Tradition. Es ist keine Leihbibliothek.
