BROWNBACK\u2019S CHURCH. March 22 \u2014 Eduard Benes, former president of Czecho-Slovakla, "sold out\u201d and \u201cdidn\u2019t keep faith\u201d with his people when he told them not to become concerned about Hitler\u2019s advances on the World war-born nation.
That, in effect, was the sentiment of 28-year-old Helen Petrisko, who came to the United States from the nation which no longer exists, only a week ago,
Miss Petrisko, residing temporarily in the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Hakum, this afternoon declared, through an Interpreter, that the average person in Czecho-Slovakia was ready to fight rather than surrender to Hitler.
* * * \u201cMost of the people turned on Benes after they saw what he had told them wasn\u2019t true,\u201d the brown- aired woman declared during an interview in the Hakum living room. * * *
\u201cHe told us not to worry and all the time he was getting ready to flee to America and let us there at the hands of Hitler,\u201d she continued.
Miss Petrisko, who hesitated to talk at length about conditions in Europe because several members of her family still live in the section acquired by Hitler, spoke In Slavish and her cousin, North Coventry High school student Anna Hakun. tramlated her statements.
The immigrant left Prague three weeks ago. She lived in Meroso, Slovakia.
