The invitation was not meaningless : Francis Deron had been (under a last-minute pen-name, because of his AFP assignment) assistant to René Viénet for the two hours film Peking Duck Soup [Chinois, encore un effort pour être révolutionnaires, \u4ed6\u9580\u8fa6\u4e8b\uff0c\u8001\u767e\u59d3\u4e0d\u653e\u5fc3] in which was extensively quoted the Li YiZhe DaZiPao [\u95dc\u65bc\u793e\u6703\u4e3b\u7fa9\u7684\u6c11\u4e3b\u8207\u6cd5\u5236] Chinois, si vous saviez.
On September 9th, 1976, the day Mao ZeDong passed away, on French TV network A2, during a debate following screening of Mao by Mao 26 minutes film, the French edition cover of the text was splashed on screen, providing instant celebrity to Li ZhengTian and his friends Chen YiYang, Wang XiZhe and Guo HengZhi, probably saving their life.
