The Bukit Panjang LRT opened in November 1999 to connect residents Bukit Panjang to Choa Chu Kang MRT station on the North South Line.The first generation rolling stock is the Bombardier Innovia APM 100 C801. Initially, the C801 livery consists of 2 turquoise strips but was then replaced with a single red strip from 2005 onwards. In 2014, the second generation trains was introduced called the C801A. In 2015, Bukit Panjang Station was connected to the Downtown MRT Line.
