"The Corpus Domini complex was founded by Bianca Maria Visconti in the mid-fifteenth century, by the architect De Lera, and in the sixteenth century it reached a double extension compared tomthat of the nearby monasteries of San Benedetto and Santa Chiara.Assigned to the Municipality of Cremona at the end of the eighteenth century, following the suppression of religious orders, changed destination, hosting military troops, although never becoming a hospital, like the nearby monasteries, and assuming the denomination of barracks "Sagramoso". Added to the degradation of that time a frightful fire erupted in 1849 and the transformations subsequent to the second world war, taccommodate first of Jewish refugees were added: a cinema, a kindergarten and even a synagogue were built, overlooking via Chiara Novella; of the twentieth century the east wing was demolished to build a condominium and a garage was opened in the church. "

"Il complesso del Corpus Domini fu fondato per volere di

Bianca Maria Visconti nella met del XV secolo, per impulso

dell\u2019architetto De Lera, e raggiunse nel Cinquecento un\u2019estensione

doppia rispetto a quella dei vicini monasteri di San Benedetto e

Santa Chiara. Ceduto al Comune di Cremona alla fine del Settecento, a

seguito della soppressione degli ordini religiosi, mutò

destinazione, ospitando truppe militari, pur non diventando mai

ospedale, come i vicini monasteri, ed assumendo la denominazione di

caserma \u201cSagramoso\u201d. Alle manomissioni subite da quel secolo, si

sono aggiunte le conseguenze di uno spaventoso incendio scoppiato nel

1849 e le trasformazioni successive al secondo conflitto mondiale,

per ospitare dapprima profughi ebrei: vennero realizzati un cinema,

un asilo e persino una sinagoga, affacciata su via Chiara Novella;

negli anni cinquanta del Novecento l\u2019ala est fu abbattuta per

costruirvi un condominio e nella chiesa venne aperta un\u2019officina."
