The Digital Dewey Project 1.0This project is a "zipped" collection of folders which mirrors the Dewey Decimal System used by many libraries. It has approximately 2500 folders and nested sub-folders, one for every major Dewey non-fiction subject. Folders are included for fiction, as well. It is particularly useful for browsing.
Users can unzip these folders to their hard drive and organize their digital collection by dropping the documents in the appropriate folder. For more details on the Dewey system, refer to http://dewey.info/ (no affiliation). Digital Dewey is probably most useful if the stored files are also listed in a library catalog or file indexing program since browsing the many folders can be tedious.
