Digitization example De Domijnen

The digitization object used in this example is a charter from 1546 in which drost Alexander van Drymborn acts as an arbitrator to settle the dispute that arose between the city of Sittard and the inhabitants of Tudderen regarding the grazing of Tudderen cattle on Sittardian meadows. There is no special reason why Archive De Domijnen is digitizing this charter. All charters are digitized, important or not, because they are among the oldest documents and must be preserved as optimally as possible. In addition to preservation, Archive De Domijnen aims on making the information from these documents available to the public by, among other things, adding them to the European charter archive Monasterium.net (ICARUS).
