Taipei\u2019s revolutionary Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Tower. The mixed use project is designed by Paris-based Vincent Callebaut Architectures. Callebaut\u2019s twisting DNA-inspired \u2018Citytree\u2019 towers combine passivhaus principles and renewable energy technology to produce more energy than they consume.
Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Tower is designed to have a carbon-neutral footprint. The building will house 23,000 trees and shrubs across the facade, roof and balconies, absorbing approximately 130 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Column-free internal spaces, based on the Vierendeel Truss, offer highly flexible interior design opportunities. Callebaut has partnered with Hui-Ting Shen from China-based Core Pacific Group to realise his vision of transformative and sustainable, vertical forest architecture.
