"The People In My Head" was a project began in 1995 and worked on until about 2000. Black and white drawings of random imaginary characters, with an accompanying short background story for each one, affixed to the back of the frame.

There were about 30 different designs in all, and I've uploaded here the 6 remaining ones that I still have access to, the rest are scattered who knows where. Thanks to a loved one, these were recently photographed for me so I could preserve them on the Archive. If I ever come across the rest of them, I'll upload those too, but of course they're lost to me... because of my getting-rid-of-things problem.

They began as simple designs, then evolved into having a little descriptive stories. Many copies were made from the originals and my idea was to sell them as greeting cards.

I bought a bulky copy machine (this was 1997 or so, before computer printing was available to me) and thus embarked on my own card printing venture.

I bought a large roll of industrial cellophane, and created sets of cards, each set containing one of each design along with an envelope, had stickers ordered for labels, and tied each package up with a nice thin black ribbon.

I began to advertise these cards in various classifieds, and got a P.O. box to safely receive money in. I was ready to go, then, utter chaos and destruction came to my life, and the whole project was abandoned.

I gave away all of the card packages, and sent lots if them to unsuspecting relatives who probably already considered me nuts, thus adding to my already questionable reputation in the family. I cringe as I look back and imagine their reactions upon opening these "greeting card" packages. I have no idea how to manage or present my artwork among real people. Yet the desire to do it has always been with me.

I'm sorry to everyone who I've confused, made uncomfortable, or simply annoyed.

So that's the story of these strange designs. I don't remember the rest of them, other than Randolph the Banana

( he looked something like this - https://ia803005.us.archive.org/4/items/digiartbtc/hello%20banana%201%20%7C%20birdtown%20comics.JPG ) and Frank's Pizza. Also, my name was Amy Lohrman Blake at the time (as seen on the sticker label things).

I'm thankful for Internet Archive. Thanks to this site I've finally been able to preserve my creations, in spite of my (still ongoing) throwing things away problem.
