The idea is that you colour these in, add your text, and maybe add an image and you're done. If you make a different kind of video on the same channel, it gets a different template with a different set of colours.
There are 38 to choose from, all in the same motif. The PNG files are for reference/display here on archive.org, and the SVG are the files you should be working with. Each is filled in with 200 different colour schemes for your convenience. Edit them, they are ready for complementary colours or triads, or whatver.
The images are meant to look like media, maybe a forgotten format from an old radio station. Perhaps these would go well with an audio-only podcast. These vertical images go with the horizontal ones found at https://archive.org/details/eight-track-thumbnails, and are meant to be the component on social media that advertizes the main video etc. These images are more tailored towards having horizontal text than the vertical ones in the archive mentioned ahove.

Text should always be black or white, and the lines in the glyphs should have the same width as the lines in the template.
I didn't spend a lot of time on these templates so there are mistakes where lines don't quite join, things aren't perfectly symmetrical because I eyeballed it. If you're going to use these regularly they probably need some touch-ups in Inkscape.
The Jacobin youtube channel has geometric VHS-looking thumbnails, and it inspired these. I enjoy their use of arrows, but left them to be added by others on an as-needed basis.
