The Elligen Residenz, in Ellingen, Germany, was a major castle of a leader of the Teutonic Knights. When we visited on December 22, 2016, we were the only two people in that "tour group" and were able to get into places sometimes not available to larger groups. The guide spoke excellent English and was delighted to visit with Americans, apparently not enough Americans know of this wonderful place to which we were directed by a resident of Ansbach.
