Horace and Ida had a vegetable garden in the backyard on Olin St. after I "moved out" (HA!) and Sam, our last dog, died. I\u2019m not at all confident these are the same years. In fact, I think the first picture, with the tiny pole beans, is at least one year prior to the other pictures. the hose in the first picture is where there are plants in the others. In the second picture, the closest row looks like maybe radishes, then scallions, then (perhaps various) brassica.
In the background you can see a little three walled building, like a gazebo. What a weird word. Gazebo. Yer welcome! There is a dwarf lemon tree in front of it that's fruiting and white tea roses, perhaps blooming, growing up the front panels of the gazebo.
In the upper left you can see an opening between the gazebo wall and the rear corner of the garage at the far upper left. There was another smaller yard through that opening. Our folks planted a few fruit trees back there.
In the third picture, you can see where the hose was in the first photo. Looks like a Swiss chard variety (with the red stalks), then spring onions behind them. Maybe an herb in the pot on the right. I\u2019m unable to distinguish what the plants closest to the camera are.
That was a nice little house.
