"Love In The Rain"
by: Wes Robert Ward
I kissed her. She kissed me. Down by the whispering stream where many dream. Near the lazy river of no return, where the red ferns grow that I know. Not far from the lake where lovers lay that very yearning day.
Rain, raining, rain.
She kissed me. I kissed her. Down on the soft ground where I held her lovingly so. Near the old orchard tree that bared fruit for only us at that precious moment. Not far from the home we shared together since we were young adults, yet our souls were as old as time goes by. Butterflies may fly, but our breathing hearts were like golden Eagles flying in the deep blue sky.
Rain, raining, rain.
I made love to her. She made love to me. Down and drawn together lost in a world nearby of purple heather. Near each other together skin to skin. Not far from each other ever again. A lover's embark on a journey of discovery in a world of wonder, and the treasures within filled our beating hearts asunder that made them pound like crashing thunder.
Rain, raining, rain.
She made love to me. I made love to her. Down in each other's loving arms. Near and close together baring our bodies forever, never to be severed. Not far away ever again from the love in each other's eyes we had for each other. Lover to lover, we were. So sure that nothing would break us apart, we were baring our hearts.
Rain, raining, rain.
I loved her. She loved me. She was my heart. I was hers. There in the orchard of hearts aplenty. Never to be torn apart no matter what century. And there henceforth, we were as one rather than two, no other love was ever so true.
Rain, raining, rain.
We were young, and we were naive. We held desire within our souls. From our heads to our toes. I'd die for her. She'd die for me. Yet in that moment we just lived, and gave each other what we wanted and needed.
Rain, raining, rain.
And as the rain came down, on the ground, and all around, drenching us in warm spring rain, I asked her in this enchanting land her hand.
Rain, raining, rain.
She said yes.
Rain, raining, rain.
Alas no other three letter word makes one come alive and live again. To begin and never end. To send shivers of happiness soaring through the soul in the center of the heart as yes.
Rain, raining, rain.
And as we ran home, the rain poured and poured, yet our spirits soared and soured.
The End. \u2614
