Claims of arresting sarmachars from Karachi are false - BRAS

Baloch Khan, a spokesman for the Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS), an umbrella of four liberation organizations, said in a statement from an undisclosed location that Karachi police had claimed to have arrested six BRAS\u2019 members yesterday is totally false. BRAS denies the claims.

Baloch Khan added that on July 18, SSP Fida Hussain of Karachi \u2018West\u2019 claimed in a press conference the arrest of six BRAS sarmachars (fighters) and released a list of those arrested. Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar denies the arresting claims of any of its members. These people are not affiliated with BRAS but are common Baloch people.

We consider this clarification and denial necessary because the process of disclosing the arrests is a continuation of Pakistan's ongoing propaganda, under which the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies have been trying to cover up their failures after a long period of defeat. They are targeting ordinary Baloch people and are subjecting them to "collective punishment". After the attacks of Baloch sarmachars across Balochistan, the Pakistani army has been involved in bombing the general Baloch population presenting them as the fighters\u2019 base camps, forcibly disappearing the innocent civilians and falsely accusing them of being sarmachars. On several occasions, the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies kill civilians in fake encounters and expose them as fighters or, as in the case of the aforesaid police press conference, implicate civilians in fake cases. This is a continuation of Pakistan's policy of Baloch genocide and collective punishment.

It may be recalled that Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS) is an alliance and umbrella organization of four major pro-independence armed groups: Baloch Liberation Army, Balochistan Liberation Front, Baloch Republican Army and Baloch Republican Guard.
