Shirahatti was under SMC { Southern Maratha Country } for more than 200 years. Sangli State ruled Shirahatti Taluk. Esquire family of Lagoo were personal secretry of Sangli Raja Saheb became the Regional Representative of sangli state in Shirahatti.Lagoo family was Tainathdhar of shirhatti.
Lagoo built the beautiful temple in shirahatti in model of shri Ganapathi Temple o sangli. In 1850 period by Lagoo family.
Temple of shirhatti was a private family temple which was worshiped by the Chitpvan Brahman family - Lagoo.
In this temple main sanctum ( GarbahGudi ) - Lord Vishnu as the Narayana and Jaganmathe Shakthi as Laxmi - together as " Laxmi Narayana" ( popularly known as LaxmiNarayana Devasthana.
It was build in the heart of Shirahatti Fort. This is temple cimple have a Garuda Deva , Hanuman in the temple premises.
There are 2 main doors to temple - Purva Dwara and paschima Dwara.
Temple is two stored build by bricks and stone, a beautiful wooden carved pillers, designs made the temple more magnificent. Temple is in Marathi Architecture style.
The gopurum is more attractive.
