Astronomy, one of the oldest sciences, has witnessed a revolution in the twenty-first century driven by technological advancements and international cooperation. For Brazil, a nation with vast territories offering exceptional conditions for ground-based observations, the path toward astronomical prominence has been both challenging and rewarding. While major observatories are often located in remote regions due to atmospheric clarity requirements, the administrative and academic heart of these efforts frequently resides in national capitals.
