Abstract

The integration of biological sciences into urban planning is a critical challenge in the twenty-first century, particularly in planned cities like Brasília, Brazil. This article examines the multifaceted role of the Brazilian biologist within the context of the Federal District (Distrito Federal). As one of only two capitals globally designed with modernist architectural principles rather than organic growth, Brasília presents a unique case study for urban ecology.
