This study analyzes the challenges faced by editors in Ethiopia regarding linguistic precision, methodological rigor, and ethical compliance. Furthermore, it explores how local editors serve as cultural intermediaries who bridge Ethiopian academic traditions with international publishing standards. The findings suggest that strengthening editorial infrastructure in Addis Ababa is essential for enhancing the citation index of Ethiopian research and fostering regional academic collaboration.

The landscape of academic publishing in Africa has undergone significant transformation over the past two decades. Nowhere is this transformation more palpable than in Ethiopia, a nation with one of the fastest-growing higher education sectors on the continent.
