Abstract:
This paper examines the evolving role of traditional masonry techniques within the rapidly modernizing urban landscape of Beijing, China. As Beijing undergoes significant transformation driven by globalization and technological advancement, the preservation and adaptation of masonry structures—particularly within Hutong districts and modern architectural integrations—have become a focal point for cultural identity debates.
