Abstract

As New Delhi faces a dual burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, the traditional dispensing role of pharmacists is increasingly insufficient. This paper argues for a paradigm shift toward clinical pharmacy services, medication therapy management (MTM), and public health interventions tailored to the demographic density of India New Delhi. The study highlights regulatory gaps, educational disparities, and the urgent need for policy integration to fully leverage pharmacist expertise in improving patient outcomes.

The healthcare landscape in India has undergone significant restructuring in the past two decades. Central to this transformation is the redefinition of pharmacy practice. Historically viewed merely as vendors of pharmaceutical products, pharmacists are now recognized as essential healthcare professionals capable of managing chronic diseases and ensuring drug safety.
