The landscape of healthcare in Iran has undergone profound changes over the past three decades. As one of the most populous countries in the Middle East, Iran faces a dual burden of infectious diseases and a rapidly growing prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Within this context, the profession of pharmacy is undergoing a significant paradigm shift. In Tehran, the capital city and largest metropolitan area with a population exceeding nine million, this transformation is particularly acute due to high patient volume, medical tourism influxes, and advanced healthcare infrastructure.

The traditional role of the pharmacist in Iran was predominantly centered on drug distribution and community retail. However, global trends toward "patient-centered care" have influenced domestic policy discussions. This article explores how the Pharmacist in Iran Tehran is transitioning from a product-oriented professional to a service-oriented healthcare provider. It highlights the critical need for academic and practical alignment to support this transition, ensuring that pharmacists can effectively contribute to medication safety and therapeutic outcomes.

By leveraging Tehran's robust academic infrastructure and implementing supportive health policies, Iran can set a precedent for modern pharmacy practice in the Middle East. The ultimate goal is a system where every citizen in Iran Tehran benefits from the expertise of their local pharmacist, ensuring safer, more effective, and equitable healthcare delivery.
