Abstract
This article examines the critical transformation occurring within the field of diagnostic imaging in Mexico City. As one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, Mexico City presents a unique set of clinical, infrastructural, and socio-economic challenges for medical professionals. The primary focus is on the Radiologist, whose role has expanded significantly from traditional image interpretation to becoming an integral part of multidisciplinary clinical teams. This paper analyzes current trends in digitalization, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), and the persistent disparities in healthcare access within Mexico City. By reviewing recent data and case studies, we argue that enhancing the infrastructure for Radiologist training and technological adoption is essential for improving public health outcomes in this dense urban environment.

With a population exceeding nine million within the city limits and nearly twenty-two million in the greater metropolitan area, the burden on healthcare systems is immense.
