We analyzed the volume of used engine oil, coolant, and battery acid disposed of improperly versus correctly between 2019 and 2023.
Qualitative data was gathered through semi-structured interviews with twenty-four practitioners identifying as a mechanic. These individuals ranged from owners of large-scale service centers in District 7 to independent operators in the densely populated districts of Binh Thanh and Go Vap. The interviews focused on their daily challenges, training backgrounds, awareness of environmental regulations, and perceptions regarding the introduction of electric vehicles into Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City.
