Unlike rural areas where distance is the primary barrier, in urban centers like Tehran, time lost in gridlock can be critical for stroke or cardiac arrest victims.</p> <p>During my rotation, I observed how dispatchers and Paramedic crews utilize GPS technology and traffic updates to navigate routes dynamically. The coordination between the 115 Emergency Service (the primary emergency number in Iran) and local traffic police is vital. We learned to anticipate bottlenecks near major landmarks such as Azadi Square or Valiasr Street, which are frequently congested during rush hours.</p> <p>Additionally, the altitude variation in Tehran affects oxygen saturation levels. In northern districts like Shemiranat, where elevation is higher than in central Tehran, Paramedic students must be vigilant regarding patients with respiratory conditions.
