This internship was designed to immerse me in this dynamic environment. My internship aimed to familiarize me with these regulations, ensuring that I could practice as a qualified Pharmacist who adheres strictly to national standards while addressing the local health needs of the Addis Ababa population.

A. Medication Dispensing and Verification
Under the supervision of senior pharmacists, I was responsible for receiving prescriptions, checking for drug interactions, allergies, and dosage appropriateness. In Addis Ababa, it is common to encounter patients with multiple comorbidities requiring polypharmacy. I learned to meticulously verify electronic and handwritten prescriptions to prevent errors.

I also developed technical proficiency with pharmacy management software used locally, which tracks patient history and drug interactions specific to the Ethiopian formulary.
