The internship was conducted at Pasir Putih Veterinary Hospital located in the southern district of Jakarta Selatan (South Jakarta). This facility serves as a tertiary care center for exotic pets, livestock consultation services for peri-urban farmers, and community outreach programs focused on rabies control.

The choice of Indonesia Jakarta as the site for this Internship Report was deliberate. The city acts as a microcosm of the broader veterinary landscape in Indonesia. The core of the internship involved shadowing senior Veterinarians and assisting in surgical procedures. One of the most significant aspects of practicing as a Veterinarian in this region is dealing with trauma cases resulting from high traffic density, a hallmark of life in Indonesia Jakarta. During the first month, I assisted in over fifty soft tissue surgeries.

A significant portion of emergency admissions involved dogs and cats struck by vehicles. Many pet owners struggle to afford advanced diagnostics like MRI or CT scans, which are available but costly. As a Veterinarian, I had to learn how to provide effective palliative care and preventive medicine strategies that were cost-effective yet medically sound.
