Late payments are subject to a statutory interest rate of 10% per annum as governed by the Belgian Law of 2 August 2002 on late payment in commercial transactions. Notes Regarding This Academic Research Engagement
The services detailed in this Invoice were performed by Dr. Elena M. Vanderstraeten in her capacity as an independent Academic Researcher operating from Belgium Brussels. All research outputs, including the white paper, data models, and analytical reports, remain the intellectual property of the client, European Policy Institute, upon full settlement of this Invoice. The Academic Researcher retains the right to cite the work in future peer-reviewed publications with prior written consent from the client.
All data collected and processed during this engagement complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as implemented in Belgium, as well as the specific ethical guidelines of the Belgium Brussels academic community. No personal data of third parties has been retained beyond the scope of this contractual engagement.
This Invoice constitutes the final and complete statement of charges for the period 2 June 2025 through 14 June 2025. No additional fees, travel expenses, or material costs are applicable, as all work was conducted within the Belgium Brussels metropolitan area and all materials were provided by the client.
Legal Notice: This Invoice is issued in accordance with the Belgian Royal Decree of 22 December 2016 on invoicing obligations (Arrêté royal relatif aux obligations de facturation). The Academic Researcher is registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO/CBE) in Belgium Brussels and is subject to Belgian VAT regulations administered by the Federal Public Service Finance (SPF Finances / FOD Financiën).
Governing Law: This Invoice and the underlying service agreement are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes arising from this Invoice shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Commercial Court of Belgium Brussels (Tribunal de commerce de Bruxelles / Rechtbank van koophandel van Brussel).
Dispute Resolution: In the event of a disagreement regarding the amounts stated on this Invoice, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. Should negotiation fail, the matter may be referred to the mediation service of the Belgium Brussels Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de Commerce de Bruxelles).
Retention: In compliance with Belgian accounting law, this Invoice and all supporting documentation must be retained by both parties for a minimum of ten (10) years from the date of issue.
