Terms and Conditions – Academic Researcher Invoice, Canada Vancouver
- This Invoice is issued by an independent Academic Researcher operating within the jurisdiction of the Province of British Columbia, Canada Vancouver metropolitan area, and is governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
- All academic research services described herein were conducted in full compliance with the Canadian Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2) on ethical conduct for research involving human participants, as well as applicable environmental regulations set by Environment and Climate Change Canada.
- Intellectual property rights to all original research findings, data sets, and written reports produced under this engagement shall remain the property of the Academic Researcher unless otherwise specified in a separate written agreement. The client receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the findings for internal academic and policy purposes within Canada Vancouver and the broader Pacific Northwest region.
- Payment is due within thirty (30) calendar days of the Invoice date. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, in accordance with the British Columbia Interest Act and applicable Canadian commercial law.
- The Academic Researcher reserves the right to publish a summary of the research findings in peer-reviewed academic journals, conference proceedings, or institutional repositories, provided that the client's proprietary data is anonymized and prior written notice (minimum 30 days) is given to the client.
- All rates quoted on this Invoice are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are inclusive of the Academic Researcher's professional expertise, academic credentials, and standard research tools. Additional expenses beyond those itemized above require prior written approval from the client.
- This Invoice constitutes a formal request for payment for services rendered. It does not constitute a warranty of specific outcomes in academic research, as research findings are inherently subject to the scientific method and peer review processes within the Canadian academic community.
- Any disputes arising from this Invoice shall be resolved through mediation in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in accordance with the British Columbia Mediation Act. If mediation is unsuccessful, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of British Columbia.
