Terms and Conditions – Actor Services in Johannesburg, South Africa
- This invoice covers all professional actor services rendered by Mr. Daniel van der Merwe in connection with the Meridian Theatre production in Johannesburg, South Africa. The actor's engagement is governed by the South African Institute of Professional Actors (SAIPA) code of conduct and the applicable labour laws of the Republic of South Africa.
- All performance dates, rehearsal schedules, and workshop commitments listed in this invoice were agreed upon in the signed Actor Engagement Contract dated 20 May 2025, executed in Johannesburg, South Africa. Any additional services beyond the scope of this invoice will be subject to a separate written agreement and supplementary invoice.
- The actor reserves all intellectual property rights to his original creative interpretations, vocal performances, and physical choreography developed during the engagement. The production company, Meridian Theatre Productions (Pty) Ltd, is granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use recorded performances for promotional purposes within South Africa for a period of twelve (12) months from the final performance date.
- Payment is due within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue of this invoice. In the event of non-payment, StageCraft Performance Agency reserves the right to suspend all further actor services and to pursue recovery of outstanding amounts through the Magistrate's Court of Johannesburg, South Africa, in accordance with the Magistrates' Courts Act 32 of 1944.
- The actor is responsible for his own professional indemnity insurance and public liability cover for the duration of the engagement in Johannesburg, South Africa. Proof of such insurance has been provided to the production company prior to the commencement of rehearsals.
- This invoice is subject to the tax laws of the Republic of South Africa. The South African Revenue Service (SARS) may require a copy of this invoice for tax compliance purposes. The actor's income is subject to the applicable tax brackets as determined by SARS for the 2025/2026 tax year.
- Any disputes arising from this invoice or the underlying actor engagement shall be resolved through mediation in Johannesburg, South Africa, in accordance with the Arbitration Act 42 of 1965, before escalation to the courts of South Africa.
