Payment Terms & Notes
Payment Method: Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to the Journalist's registered business account at RBC Royal Bank, Vancouver Branch, Canada Vancouver. Account details are available upon request. Cheques payable to "Whitfield Media Group" are also accepted.
Payment Due: This Invoice is payable within thirty (30) calendar days from the issue date of June 15, 2025. A late payment penalty of 1.5% per month will be applied to any outstanding balance after the due date of July 15, 2025, in accordance with the British Columbia Late and Interest Payment Act.
Scope of Work: All services rendered by the Journalist under this Invoice were performed in full compliance with the Canadian Code of Ethics for Journalists, as established by the Canadian Association of Journalists. The Journalist warrants that all reporting was conducted with due diligence, accuracy, and adherence to the principles of fair and balanced journalism as practiced in Canada Vancouver and across the province of British Columbia.
Intellectual Property: Upon full and final payment of this Invoice, all rights to the written content, photographic materials, and multimedia assets produced by the Journalist shall transfer to the client. Until payment is received in full, the Journalist retains all copyright and reproduction rights under the Copyright Act of Canada.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Invoice shall be resolved through mediation in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Vancouver, in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
Confidentiality: The Journalist acknowledges and agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sources, unpublished information, and proprietary client data encountered during the performance of services described in this Invoice, consistent with journalistic ethics and Canadian privacy legislation (PIPEDA).
