Notes Regarding This Invoice
This Invoice is issued by a licensed Journalist operating under the Kenya Press and Media Council (KPMC) registration number JRN-2019-0847. All services rendered comply with the Kenya Press and Media Council Act, 2008, and the Code of Ethics for the Media in Kenya.
The Journalist confirms that all reporting, research, and editorial work described in this Invoice was conducted independently, with full adherence to journalistic standards of accuracy, fairness, and impartiality. All sources were approached in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Payment is due within fifteen (15) calendar days from the Invoice date. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate of 2% per month as stipulated under the Kenyan Interest Act. This Invoice is valid for ninety (90) days from the date of issue.
All intellectual property rights in the delivered content remain with the Journalist until full payment is received. Upon clearance of this Invoice, a limited, non-exclusive license for broadcast and print use within Kenya Nairobi and the broader East African region is granted to the client.
Terms and Conditions
1. This Invoice constitutes a binding agreement between Mwangi Media & Journalism Services Ltd. (the Journalist) and East Africa Broadcasting Corporation (the Client) for the services described herein.
2. All services were performed in Kenya Nairobi and are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from this Invoice shall be resolved through arbitration in Kenya Nairobi in accordance with the Arbitration Act, 1995.
3. The Journalist reserves the right to withhold publication of any deliverable until full and final payment of this Invoice is confirmed in the client's accounts.
4. The Client acknowledges that the Journalist operates as an independent contractor and not as an employee of the Client. No employer-employee relationship is created by this Invoice.
5. This Invoice is subject to the standard terms of the Kenya Press and Media Council for freelance and contract journalism engagements. The Client has had the opportunity to review and accept these terms prior to the commencement of services.
6. Any amendments to the scope of work or additional services beyond those listed in this Invoice must be agreed upon in writing and will be subject to a supplementary Invoice.
