Terms and Conditions of This Invoice1. This Invoice constitutes a formal demand for payment of all professional legal fees and disbursements incurred by the Lawyer in the conduct of the above-referenced matter. The Client acknowledges receipt of this Invoice and agrees to the amounts stated herein.
2. In the event of non-payment by the due date, interest shall accrue at the rate of 10% per annum on the outstanding balance, in accordance with the Interest on Debts Act 1983 (Qld) and the terms of the retainer agreement.
3. The Lawyer reserves the right to suspend all further legal work and to withdraw from the matter in accordance with the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2014 (Qld) if payment is not received within the stipulated period.
4. All fees are exclusive of GST. This Invoice is issued in compliance with the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 (Cth). The firm is registered for GST with the Australian Taxation Office.
5. Any disputes regarding this Invoice or the legal services rendered should be directed in writing to the Principal Lawyer at the Brisbane office address stated above. The parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation before commencing any formal dispute resolution proceedings in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
6. This Invoice and all associated legal documents are the property of Harper & Mitchell Legal Pty Ltd. The Client is entitled to a copy of all working papers and documents upon request, subject to applicable legal professional privilege.
7. The firm maintains professional indemnity insurance with a limit of $10,000,000 AUD, as required by the Law Society of Queensland. A certificate of insurance is available upon request.
