Terms and Conditions — Legal Invoice
1. This Invoice constitutes a formal request for payment for legal services rendered by the undersigned Lawyer in Belgium Brussels. All professional fees are calculated in accordance with the Royal Decree of 27 February 2001 on the fees of lawyers and the tariff guidelines of the Bar of Brussels.
2. In the event of non-payment by the due date specified above, a late payment interest of 10% per annum shall apply, in accordance with Article 5:110 of the Belgian Code of Obligations and Contracts. Additionally, a fixed indemnity of EUR 40 shall be due for recovery costs, as provided for in Article 5:111.
3. The Lawyer reserves the right to suspend all ongoing legal work and representation before the courts of Belgium Brussels should payment remain outstanding beyond the due date. This suspension shall not prejudice the client's rights but may affect procedural deadlines.
4. All communications regarding this Invoice, including disputes concerning the scope of services or the calculation of fees, shall be directed in writing to the billing department of De Winter & Associates at the address stated in the header. The competent court for any dispute arising from this Invoice shall be the Court of First Instance of Brussels, in accordance with the professional regulations of the Bar.
5. This Invoice is issued in compliance with the Belgian VAT Code (Code TVA / BTW-wetboek). The VAT rate of 21% is applied as the standard rate for legal services rendered in Belgium Brussels. Should the client be a taxable entity registered in Belgium, the reverse-charge mechanism may apply where relevant under Articles 44 and 45 of the Belgian VAT Code.
6. The undersigned Lawyer confirms that all services described in this Invoice were performed in strict compliance with the Code of Professional Conduct of the Belgian Bar (Code de Déontologie de l'Ordre des Avocats) and the applicable rules of professional secrecy (secret professionnel / beroepsgeheim).
7. This Invoice is valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of issue, in accordance with Belgian commercial record-keeping obligations under Article 14 of the Belgian Companies and Associations Code.
