Abstract

As one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, São Paulo presents distinct challenges regarding density, social inequality, and heritage preservation. This study argues that contemporary architecture in this context is not merely about aesthetic innovation but serves as a crucial tool for social integration and environmental resilience. By examining case studies from recent decades, we highlight how architects are redefining urban space to address the specific needs of Brazil São Paulo citizens, proposing new frameworks for sustainable urban development that balance economic growth with social equity.

The landscape of Brazil São Paulo is characterized by rapid verticalization and a complex history of informal settlements. For decades, the city has been a laboratory for modernist experimentation, yet it currently faces the consequences of unregulated growth. The role of the Architect has shifted from being solely a designer of buildings to becoming an urban strategist who must navigate zoning laws, community demands, and climate change.

This poster explores three key pillars:
