This poster presentation introduces a new software prototype: an Editor tailored explicitly for the academic community of Iraq Baghdad. The primary objectives are:
- To provide a native Arabic user interface.
- To automate formatting according to local and international citation standards.
- To facilitate seamless collaboration between researchers within Baghdad and the global scientific community.
The proposed Editor is built on a cloud-based framework to ensure accessibility for institutions in Baghdad that may face intermittent power or internet connectivity. The core features include:
- Natural Language Processing (NLP): Pre-trained specifically on Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) and Iraqi dialectical variations found in local historical texts.
- RTL Optimization: Native Right-to-Left alignment that seamlessly integrates with English technical terms and mathematical formulas, a common requirement in STEM fields across Iraq Baghdad.
The design process involved extensive consultation with faculty members from the University of Baghdad. Key adaptations include:
- Support for Islamic date formatting alongside Gregorian dates.
