This Poster Presentation introduces "Mason," a comprehensive analytical framework designed specifically for urban planners in Pakistan Islamabad. The term "Mason" refers not merely to manual labor but to the strategic laying of digital and physical foundations for smart city integration. Through case studies drawn from the F-6, F-7, and E-11 sectors of Islamabad, this document outlines how Mason facilitates data-driven decision-making while respecting the unique geographic constraints imposed by the Margalla Hills. This presentation aims to bridge the gap between traditional architectural practices and modern technological implementation within Pakistan Islamabad.

Introduction & Background

Islamabad stands as a testament to planned urbanism in South Asia. However, decades of population influx have strained the initial master plan. The challenge for modern Pakistan Islamabad is not just expansion, but intelligent densification and infrastructure resilience. The concept of "Mason" emerges from this necessity. In the context of this academic discourse, a Mason is both a craftsman and an analyst—someone who builds with precision using data as their mortar.

The primary objectives of the Mason framework include:

  • Sustainability Integration:  Aligning construction projects with the green belt policies of Pakistan Islamabad.
  • Cultural Preservation:   Ensuring new developments respect the architectural harmony of the capital.
  • Traffic Mitigation:  Utilizing predictive modeling to reduce congestion in key corridors such as Murree Expressway and IJP Road.
  • Digital Twin Implementation:   Creating virtual replicas of urban spaces for better management.
