While tertiary care centers in Tashkent are equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, there remains a significant disparity between diagnosis and accessible therapy. Historically, speech issues were often misattributed to psychological factors or ignored entirely due to social stigma.

Key Challenges Identified:

• Lack of Standardized Training: While private clinics in Tashkent are beginning to offer Speech Therapy, there is a lack of uniform accreditation and training protocols for professionals. Many practitioners enter the field with varying degrees of expertise.
• Accessibility and Cost: High-quality Speech Therapist services in central Tashkent are often private and expensive, placing them out of reach for low-income families. State-funded hospitals frequently suffer from high patient-to-therapist ratios, limiting individualized care.
• Cultural Barriers: In some communities in Uzbekistan, discussing developmental delays is stigmatized. This leads to late diagnosis, which significantly reduces the efficacy of therapeutic interventions.
