By examining case studies from fintech, e-government services, and health-tech applications operating within the city, we aim to propose a framework for "Contextual Digital Empathy" that respects local habits while introducing modern usability standards.
2. Problem Statement: The One-Size-Fits-All Fallacy
A prevalent issue in the global software industry is the assumption that user behavior is universal. For a UX/UI Designer, this assumption can lead to high churn rates and product failure, particularly in emerging markets. 6. Conclusion and Future Directions
The role of a UX/UI Designer in Abuja is pivotal in shaping the digital future of Nigeria. It is no longer sufficient to replicate Silicon Valley standards; designers must engage deeply with the local context. The findings from this presentation demonstrate that when design strategies are adapted to the infrastructural and cultural realities of Nigeria Abuja, user satisfaction, retention, and trust increase significantly.
Future research should expand into rural-urban migration patterns affecting UI preferences in the FCT (Federal Capital Territory) and explore the impact of Voice User Interfaces (VUI) in local languages like Hausa and Yoruba within digital platforms. By embracing these localized approaches, we can foster a more inclusive digital economy that truly serves all citizens.
