By analyzing data collected over a five-year period from the Federal District, we highlight the necessity for an integrated approach that recognizes the unique ecological pressures faced by this specific metropolitan area.

The role of the modern Veterinarian extends far beyond companion animal care. In complex urban environments, veterinary medicine is a cornerstone of public health infrastructure. Brazil Brasília, as the capital of Brazil, serves as a hub for political and administrative activity while simultaneously housing diverse ecosystems ranging from cerrado savannah to urban parks. This duality creates significant challenges for disease surveillance and management.

The city’s layout in Brazil Brasília is characterized by high-density residential zones interspersed with preserved green areas. This spatial arrangement increases the frequency of human-wildlife contact, thereby elevating the risk of zoonotic spillover events. The primary aim of this study is to assess how local veterinary teams are adapting to these challenges and to propose a standardized framework for inter-sectoral collaboration in Brazil Brasília.

This study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative epidemiological data with qualitative interviews of public health officials. The research was conducted exclusively within the boundaries of Brazil Brasília.

The case of Brazil Brasília serves as a model for other planned capitals in South America facing similar urban-wildlife interface challenges.
