2.1 Objective
The primary objective of this project is to evaluate the current state of journalistic practices in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing their contribution toward promoting transparency while adhering to local cultural and legal standards that define responsible reporting in the UAE context.
In recent years, there has been a noticeable shift in what it means to be a journalist in Abu Dhabi. Historically focused on disseminating official statements and news updates, today’s journalists are expected to engage critically with social issues ranging from environmental sustainability (such as COP28 preparations) to educational reforms and economic innovation initiatives like Masdar City.
