2. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This Purchase Order is issued by the University of Dhaka to procure specialized laboratory equipment, research materials, and technical services required to support the ongoing doctoral and post-doctoral work of a senior Academic Researcher in the Department of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics. The Academic Researcher, Dr. Kazi Mahmudul Hasan (Employee ID: DU/MB/2019/0342), has submitted a detailed research procurement proposal under the National Research Council grant NRC/2025/MB/117. All items listed below are essential for the continuation of peer-reviewed academic research conducted within the Bangladesh Dhaka metropolitan campus and its affiliated field stations in Gazipur and Narayanganj.

4. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  1. Delivery: All goods shall be delivered, installed, and made operational at the designated Bangladesh Dhaka campus address no later than 15 August 2025. The supplier bears all transportation, customs clearance (if applicable for imported components), and insurance costs up to the point of delivery in Bangladesh Dhaka.
  2. Quality Assurance: All equipment must be new, unused, and conform to the specifications outlined in the Academic Researcher's approved research proposal. The supplier shall provide certificates of origin, test reports, and compliance documentation with Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) requirements.
  3. Warranty: A minimum 24-month comprehensive warranty is included for all capital equipment. The warranty shall cover parts, labour, and on-site service calls at the Bangladesh Dhaka facility. Response time for critical failures shall not exceed 48 hours.
  4. Payment: Payment shall be made via bank transfer to the supplier's designated account within 45 days of receipt of a valid tax invoice and a signed delivery-commissioning certificate by the Academic Researcher and the Dean of Research. A 10% retention shall be held until the warranty period expires without unresolved defects.
  5. Intellectual Property: All data generated by the Academic Researcher using the procured equipment remains the sole property of the University of Dhaka. The supplier shall not claim any rights over research outputs.
  6. Compliance: This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the University of Dhaka Procurement Policy 2024. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Bangladesh Dhaka under the Bangladesh Arbitration Act, 2001.
  7. Cancellation: The University reserves the right to cancel or modify this Purchase Order in writing up to 14 days before the delivery deadline. In such cases, the supplier shall be compensated for non-cancellable costs incurred, subject to verification.
  8. Health, Safety & Environment: The supplier shall ensure that all installation activities at the Bangladesh Dhaka campus comply with the Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act, 1995, and institutional safety regulations. Proper disposal of packaging and hazardous materials is the supplier's responsibility.
Note: This Purchase Order is issued in support of the Academic Researcher Dr. Kazi Mahmudul Hasan's grant-funded project titled "Molecular Characterization of Antimicrobial Resistance Patterns in Urban Water Bodies of Bangladesh Dhaka."
