- This Purchase Order is issued by the University of British Columbia Research Procurement Division for the exclusive use of the designated Academic Researcher, Dr. Margaret Chen, in support of the "Coastal Biodiversity Monitoring Initiative" funded under the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Grant No. RGPIN-2024-0387.
- All items listed in this Purchase Order shall be delivered to the Department of Environmental Biology laboratory located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The supplier is responsible for all packaging, crating, and insurance during transit to the Canada Vancouver delivery address.
- The Academic Researcher named in this Purchase Order shall be the sole authorized recipient of all equipment and materials. No items may be redirected, resold, or transferred to any third party without written approval from the UBC Research Procurement Division.
- Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice from the supplier, provided that all goods have been inspected and accepted by the Academic Researcher. Payment will be processed via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the supplier's registered Canadian banking account.
- All equipment must comply with Canadian Safety Standards (CSA) and applicable regulations set forth by the Province of British Columbia. The supplier warrants that all items are new, unused, and free from defects for a minimum period of twenty-four (24) months from the date of delivery in Canada Vancouver.
- The supplier shall provide full technical documentation, calibration certificates, and user manuals in English for all instruments. Training sessions for the Academic Researcher and up to four (4) graduate research assistants shall be included at no additional cost.
- In the event of non-conforming goods, the Academic Researcher shall notify the supplier in writing within ten (10) business days of delivery. The supplier shall, at its own expense, replace or repair the defective items within fifteen (15) business days.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through arbitration in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in accordance with the rules of the British Columbia Arbitration Institute.
- The supplier acknowledges that this Purchase Order supports federally funded academic research conducted in Canada Vancouver and agrees to maintain confidentiality regarding all research methodologies, data, and findings associated with the Academic Researcher's project.
- Any modifications to this Purchase Order must be made in writing and signed by both the authorized representative of the University of British Columbia and the supplier. Verbal agreements or email communications shall not constitute a valid amendment to this Purchase Order.
