  1. Scope of Engagement: The Astronomer shall perform all duties in accordance with the professional standards established by the Royal Astronomical Society of Australia and the Australian Academy of Science. All work shall be conducted primarily at the QIASR premises in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties.
  2. Intellectual Property: All data, observations, reports, and publications generated during the course of this Purchase Order shall be the sole intellectual property of the Queensland Institute of Astronomical Sciences & Research. The Astronomer retains the right to cite the work in future academic publications with prior written consent from the Buyer.
  3. Confidentiality: The Astronomer agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all proprietary survey data, unpublished findings, and internal institutional information encountered during the engagement in Australia Brisbane. This obligation survives the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of five (5) years.
  4. Insurance and Liability: The Astronomer shall maintain professional indemnity insurance with a minimum coverage of AUD $5,000,000 and public liability insurance of AUD $10,000,000, valid throughout the engagement period. Certificates of insurance shall be provided to the Buyer prior to the commencement date.
  5. Payment Schedule: Invoices shall be submitted monthly in arrears. Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice in accordance with Australian Taxation Office requirements. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate prescribed under the Australian Consumer Law.
  6. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with fourteen (14) days written notice. In the event of termination, the Astronomer shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the date of termination, and all raw observational data shall be delivered to the Buyer within seven (7) business days.
  7. Compliance: The Astronomer warrants that all services shall comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Consumer Law 2010, and all applicable Queensland state regulations governing scientific research and public land use in the Brisbane metropolitan area.
  8. Dispute Resolution: Any dispute arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, in accordance with the Queensland Uniform Mediation Act 2011. If mediation fails, the matter shall be referred to the Supreme Court of Queensland, Brisbane.
  9. Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather events affecting astronomical observation in the Brisbane region, natural disasters, or government-imposed restrictions.

By signing below, the parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and specifications set forth in this Purchase Order. This document constitutes a binding agreement for the engagement of the Astronomer's professional services in Australia Brisbane for the purposes of the Southern Sky Survey Programme.
