This Purchase Order is issued by the Karachi Institute of Advanced Astronomical Sciences (KIAAS) to formally engage the services of a qualified Astronomer for a defined period of professional consultancy and research support. The engagement shall be carried out in and around Pakistan Karachi, with primary workstations located at the KIAAS observatory facility in Clifton, Karachi, and the secondary field station at the Karachi Coastal Astronomical Survey Point in Mawar, Karachi.
The Astronomer shall perform the following duties and deliverables as part of this Purchase Order:

- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and any disputes arising from this engagement shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.
- The Astronomer shall commence all duties no later than 1 July 2025 and shall complete all deliverables by 31 December 2025, unless a written extension is mutually agreed upon in writing by both parties.
- Payment shall be made in two equal instalments: 50% upon completion of Months 1–3 deliverables and 50% upon final acceptance of all remaining deliverables, via bank transfer to the Astronomer's designated account in a licensed commercial bank operating in Karachi, Pakistan.
- The Astronomer shall maintain professional indemnity insurance with a minimum coverage of PKR 5,000,000, valid throughout the duration of this Purchase Order, and shall provide a certificate of insurance to KIAAS prior to commencement of work.
- All data, observations, photographs, and research outputs generated under this Purchase Order shall remain the intellectual property of KIAAS, Karachi, Pakistan. The Astronomer retains the right to cite the work in academic publications with prior written consent from KIAAS.
- The Astronomer shall comply with all applicable regulations of the Pakistan Astronomical Society, the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (regarding field observations in protected coastal zones near Karachi), and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (for any radio-astronomy frequency usage).
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Astronomer shall be compensated on a pro-rata basis for work completed and accepted up to the date of termination.
- The Astronomer shall not subcontract any portion of the services described in this Purchase Order without the prior written approval of KIAAS, Karachi, Pakistan.
- All communications, reports, and deliverables under this Purchase Order shall be prepared in English, with optional Urdu translations for public outreach materials intended for the general audience in Pakistan Karachi.
