- This Purchase Order constitutes a formal request for the services of the named Biologist and is subject to acceptance by the supplier within five (5) business days of the date of issue.
- All services described herein shall be performed in accordance with the South African National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) 107 of 1998 and all applicable municipal by-laws governing field research in the Cape Town metropolitan area.
- The Biologist shall maintain full professional indemnity insurance with a minimum cover of R 5,000,000 for the duration of the engagement and shall provide a certificate of insurance prior to commencing fieldwork.
- Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice from the Biologist, provided that all deliverables have been accepted in writing by the AMRI Project Manager.
- All data, specimens, and intellectual property generated as a result of this Purchase Order shall remain the sole property of the Atlantic Marine Research Institute unless otherwise agreed in a separate written agreement.
- The Biologist shall comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to fieldwork in South Africa Cape Town, including but not limited to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
- Any variation to the scope of work outlined in this Purchase Order must be approved in writing by both parties before additional services are rendered.
- This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Cape Town in accordance with the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA).
- The Biologist warrants that all findings, reports, and recommendations submitted under this Purchase Order shall be accurate, scientifically rigorous, and free from conflict of interest.
This Purchase Order is issued and authorised by the undersigned on behalf of the Atlantic Marine Research Institute. Acceptance by the Biologist shall be confirmed by signing and returning a copy of this document within the stipulated period.
