This Purchase Order is issued by the Tanzania Coastal Environmental Research Institute to procure the professional services of a qualified Biologist for the duration of the Tanzania Dar es Salaam Coastal Biodiversity Assessment Project. The Biologist shall be responsible for conducting field surveys, laboratory analysis, species identification, ecological impact assessments, and the preparation of comprehensive scientific reports in accordance with the standards set by the Tanzania National Environment Management Council (NEMC) and the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH). The Biologist must hold a minimum of a Master's degree in Biology, Marine Biology, or a closely related discipline, and must possess at least five (5) years of documented field experience in the East African coastal and terrestrial ecosystems surrounding Tanzania Dar es Salaam.

- Acceptance: This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement upon written acceptance by the Supplier. The Biologist services described herein shall commence no later than 1 July 2025 at the designated project sites within Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
- Performance Standards: The Biologist shall adhere to all applicable Tanzanian environmental regulations, including the Environmental Management Act (Cap. 403), and shall comply with the ethical guidelines of the Tanzania Council for Science and Technology. All fieldwork in Tanzania Dar es Salaam shall be conducted in accordance with local municipal permits and community consent protocols.
- Payment Terms: Payment shall be made in three (3) equal installments: 40% upon commencement of the Biologist's fieldwork, 40% upon submission of the interim ecological report, and 20% upon final acceptance of all deliverables. Payments shall be processed via bank transfer to the Supplier's designated account within fourteen (14) business days of invoice submission.
- Deliverables: The Biologist shall submit a comprehensive Biodiversity Assessment Report, a Microbiological Analysis Report, a GIS-based habitat map of the Tanzania Dar es Salaam coastal zone, and a set of community engagement minutes. All deliverables shall be submitted in both English and Swahili.
- Confidentiality: All data collected by the Biologist during the course of this Purchase Order shall remain the exclusive property of the Purchasing Entity. The Biologist shall not disclose, publish, or share any findings without prior written consent from TCERI.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Biologist shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the date of termination.
- Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Tanzania Dar es Salaam in accordance with the Arbitration Act of Tanzania.
- Insurance and Liability: The Supplier shall ensure that the Biologist is covered under adequate professional liability insurance and workers' compensation for the entire duration of the engagement in Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
