This Purchase Order is issued by Atlantic Coast Property Developments (Pty) Ltd to engage the services of Cape Timber & Craft Carpentry Services, a registered Carpenter operating in South Africa Cape Town, for the supply of custom carpentry work, timber materials, and related finishing services for the residential development project at 44 Bree Street, Gardens, Cape Town. The Carpenter shall commence on-site work no later than 23 June 2025 at the project address in Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa. All timber materials and pre-fabricated carpentry components shall be delivered to the site in South Africa Cape Town in no fewer than three (3) staged deliveries, coordinated with the Buyer's site manager. The anticipated completion date for all carpentry works under this Purchase Order is 12 July 2025. The Carpenter is required to present a detailed work schedule within five (5) business days of accepting this Purchase Order.
6. Terms and Conditions6.1 This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court in Cape Town, Western Cape.
6.2 The Carpenter warrants that all timber materials supplied are free from defects, termites, and fungal infestation, and comply with SANS 1391 (Timber for Structural Use) and relevant SANS standards applicable in South Africa.
6.3 The Carpenter shall maintain valid public liability insurance of no less than R5 000 000 and workers' compensation insurance for all personnel working on-site in Cape Town throughout the duration of the contract.
6.4 Payment shall be made in three (3) instalments: 30% upon acceptance of this Purchase Order, 40% upon completion of 60% of the carpentry works (as certified by the Buyer's project manager), and the remaining 30% upon final inspection, sign-off, and delivery of all warranties and compliance certificates.
6.5 The Carpenter shall comply with all health and safety requirements as stipulated by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) of South Africa and the City of Cape Town municipal by-laws. A valid site safety plan must be submitted prior to commencement.
6.6 Any variation to the scope of work described in this Purchase Order must be agreed in writing by both parties before additional work is undertaken. Variations shall be priced at the rates set out in this Purchase Order or at mutually agreed rates.
6.7 The Carpenter shall provide a twelve (12) month workmanship warranty on all carpentry elements. This warranty does not cover damage caused by natural disasters, unauthorised alterations, or normal wear and tear.
Important Note: All timber sourced under this Purchase Order must be accompanied by valid CITES permits where applicable (for protected species) and FSC or PEFC chain-of-custody documentation. The City of Cape Town requires that all structural carpentry work be inspected and certified by a registered building practitioner before final payment is released. The Carpenter is responsible for scheduling and facilitating all municipal inspections in South Africa Cape Town. 7. Acceptance and AuthorisationBy signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to the terms, conditions, and specifications set forth in this Purchase Order for Carpenter services in South Africa Cape Town. This document constitutes a binding agreement between the parties upon execution.
